MRA Summer Conference is being held in partnership with the Hamline University Literacy Institute on Thursday, July 17 from 8:00-3:45 on the Hamline University campus in St. Paul, MN. The theme is "Opening Minds, Opening Hearts".
The featured speaker is Steven Layne. Steven is an author of several picture books, books for teens and young adults, poetry, and resources for teachers including his book
Passionate about Reading.
There will also be a wide range of symposiums, break out sessions, and poster sessions for participants to attend. Topics include: Culturally Responsive Instruction, Research, Children and Young Adults Literature, 21st Century Learning, and Content Area Reading. Sessions will be targeted to elementary, middle or secondary educators.
The cost for the one-day registration is $150.00 which includes a free year's membership to MRA (current members will have a year added to their membership). Those who are interested in registering for the entire 4 days or for a one-day registration for Monday-Wednesday should go to the
