Who:The Twin Cities Area Reading Council invites everyone who has read The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller and those who are interested in learning more about the book to join us as we discuss it.

Are you concerned that your students do not read for enjoyment? Have your students found the magic of reading? If you are looking for a way to encourage your students to be life-long readers then The Book Whisperer: Awakening the Inner Reader in Every Child by Donalyn Miller is a must read.  It will not disappoint you.  Donalyn Miller has written an inspirational, fast-paced book which includes evidence from her own classroom, student quotes, an ultimate library list of books and student forms. Her book fits with The Daily 5 and The CAFÉ framework of Language Arts instruction providing a practical approach to instruction which engages students and brings back the magic of reading.

What:Please join us on December 9, 2010, to discuss The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller.

When: Thursday, December 9, 2010.

            Dine and dialogue from 5:30-6:00 p.m.      

            Discuss the book from 6:00-7:30 p.m.   

How:  If you are interested in attending this book study, please contact Neva Stoebner at nstoebner@delano.k12.mn.usor call 612-310-6785.  There is no cost to participate in the book study and you do not need to be a TCARC member.  If you choose to dine at Davanni’s, you will pay for the cost of your meal.  TCARC will provide dessert.
